Preserving America's Historical Significance

FPP Internship

In high school or college? Looking for a fun summer internship?   Are you good at writing, do you like history, are you a good communicator, want to see the inner-workings of not-for-profit?  Then keep reading!

First Principles Press is a not-for-profit educational foundation that seeks to Preserve America’s Historical Significance and teach Americans about our Christian Foundations.

What we need
Blog! – Our main need right now is someone to help us keep our blog, Facebook and Google+ pages updated.  This would mean daily or every other day posts on historical and/or timely information.  We have many resources, but this will require some research.  Familiarity with WordPress, Facebook and Google+ is a bonus!
Mailings! – Every couple of months we send out letters to our friends and supporters.  This means lots of folding, licking (well….gluing), and stamping.
Book Promotion!  – Recently, we published a book, “Endowed by Their Creator”: A Collection of Historic American Military Prayers 1774-Present.  We are acting as our own publisher and distributor of this books which means everything from packing books to making phone calls.  We are currently in contact with various national groups about the promotion of this book and as we partner with them we will need help staying in contact and providing them with necessary information.

What does this mean for you?
The blog and Facebook page can be maintained from your own home.  We would like for you to come in one to two days per week, depending on the amount of work needed to be done.  There will be schedule flexibility for both you and us.  This is a paid internship, hours and pay will be discussed.  We are located in Crestwood, KY.

Interested?
Send an email to kristagora@firstprinciplespress.org.  Include your name, age and grade, tell us why you are interested in this internship, why you think you would be a good fit for this position, and include one of your favorite historical quotes.  Write a sample blog post for April 13, which is the anniversary of Thomas Jefferson’s birthday.  Posts on the FPP blog can vary from one paragraph to multiple paragraphs in length.  (See our Blog for examples)  The length should be a balance of the information presented along with reader’s attention span.  Ultimately we want our blog visitors to read the article and take something away from it, whether that be something inspirational, spiritual or historical.
